Alec Monopoly

Alec Andon, better known by the name of Alec Monopoly is an artist from New York City.

Alec Monopoly is an American street artist known for having taken the mascot of the game Monopoly, Rich Uncle Pennybags or simply M. Monopoly as main subject.

Living and working in Los Angeles, Monopoly subverts image and text to criticize capitalist hierarchies through the language of consumer culture, media and pop iconography.

Although his identity is not confirmed, it seems that the artist was born in 1986 in New York to a family of painters. He appreciates the democracy inherent in graffiti and said “Painting on walls is more fun for me because everyone can enjoy it, not just collectors or art lovers”.
